well, hello there friends :)
it is officially the middle of the week...can you believe it??!!
so, let's talk health!
those of you who follow me (@chartreusetwist) on instagram
may have seen a few recent posts that were a little extra juicy ;)
yep, we have a new toy in our kitchen...my parents got my husband and me a juicer for christmas...
& it is definitely our favorite gift received!
it has been well loved so far <3 <3 <3
i decided not to look up recipes just yet because i wanted to play around a bit,
get to understand how much juice i could get out of various fruits & veggies,
and see if i could concoct something tasty all by myself.
there have been failures...some extremely earthy drinks (and i usually don't mind earthy)
that just didn't quite make the cut with our taste buds.
luckily, there have been successes, too!
i think the favorite so far is what i am calling:
<< the minty spa >>
truly - if i owned a spa, i would definitely serve this lovely juice to my clients!
it is so incredibly refreshing & invigorating...& very hydrating.
thanks to the request of a couple of lovely ladies on instagram,
i am here to share the recipe with you all today :)
the minty spa ~ a juicetail
{the following recipe will year approximately 16oz of juice}
1 chopped pineapple {outer skin removed}
1 chopped large cucumber {i used the english variety}
1 handful chopped mint
1 inch chopped fresh ginger {skin peeled}
follow the directions on your juicer & pour into a pretty bottle* {or straight into glasses, if you wish}
*i personally like my juice to be very cold, so i prefer to first put it
in a cocktail shaker with ice & shake it to chill
for the works...
cut a couple of cucumber rounds for your eyes, slip into your bathrobe,
lay back on a lounge chair & sip your juice from a straw!
ahhh...
feel refreshed?!
cheers {with juice in hand} to a healthy start to 2013, enjoy!
you will have to let me know what you think if you decide to try this!
in the meantime, have a lovely day :)
XO
brynn
p.s. the juicer we use - the omega 8006 - is awesome & i would definitely recommend it!
it also has many other amazing functions i have yet to use - it can make pasta noodles, nut butters & act as a food processor!
