fridays in love : lovin' life

hello, loves!
happy friday :)
AND...happy holiday weekend!!!
i hope you are all enjoying a nice long one!
mine officially starts @ noon today...
& i am kicking it off with a long bike ride with friends out to wineries & breweries!

so, for my post today, i started pulling images from pinterest of things i am loving...
but then i started to think about how i am just truly loving life right now
& am feeling so fulfilled that random 'stuff' isn't really doing it for me at the moment...
of course, i would definitely love a new fall wardrobe...and a couch...and, and, and...
but there is so much in life to appreciate :)
so with that said, here are the things in my life that i am currently lovin'!

what are your current loves in life??!!

have a fabulous long weekend, dahhhlings ;)

nesting : how to create the perfect gallery wall

well hello there, lovelies :)
how are you today?!

i will tell you what...
now that all of the wedding business is over,
i am in major nesting mode! i am ready to get my home in order & looking gorgeous!
i have been working on lots of projects that are keeping me busy, busy :)
next up is finally searching for all of the perfect pieces to build the perfect gallery wall above our piano!
{there is also painting of the piano...but that just gives me a little headache to think about right now!}
i am completely smitten with all of the above pieces...this would be my dream gallery wall.

i have been admiring this piece, gwendolyn, by wink of pink for some time.
absolutely loving this rorschach print from andy warhol ~ he is hands down one of my favorites!
this neon glow piece from berlin artist, jenis li cheng tien, is stunning...those colors!!!
adding in a round object of interest...this very cool theo primary clock
since i can't find this amazing piece by carrie pollack anywhere...i plan to create my own version!
{look for a diy ;) from me on it later...so long as it turns out well!}
i would love to have this lovely reminder staring me in the face each day :)
if i could own a dekooning, it would be this one - the colors are perfection!
i have a thing for birds & this image is just so pretty...i only wish i knew the artist or where to find it!
words can't express my love for this valentino art piece by sandra suy <3

here are 3 key details i will be considering when building a gallery wall...
1// choose pieces that are meaningful... seems obvious, but still important to note
{i will be choosing pieces that make me happy...it will be my wall of happy :)}
2// decide if it will be eclectic or if it will tell a story - will there be a specific color palette?
{i will be going eclectic, though i would say that femininity will be threaded through as a commonality  & i will definitely be staying within a color palette! loving the palette above!}
3// what kind of frames? all unique or all the same?
{i love the eclecticness of the varied pieces balanced by all being in the same style of frame}

do you have a gallery wall in your home?
if not do you want one?
what do you/will you display in your gallery??!!

have a lovely day :)

WEDnesday: flashback to my life as a bachelorette

hello, loves :)

i thought that i would catch you all up on what i have been up to over the summer…

let’s start with bridal/bachelorette parties! this was definitely one of my most favorite part of the wedding events :) I felt quite lucky to get 2 of these special events in honor…being that I had bridesmaids & friends split between seattle & southern california, it just made the most sense to have one in each location ;)

the 1st was in palm springs…oh how I fell absolutely in love with palm springs! sure, it was 111 degrees at one point, but when all you are doing is laying by/in the pool & have people serving you refreshing cocktails, you hardly notice the heat {that is until you step barefoot onto the concrete…ouch!}...it was just was this seattle gal needed ;) it was a small group – 4 of us – and we had the most amazing 3 days…it mostly involved pool time, mimosas & good old fashioned girl time :)
we are definitely making this an annual girls trip!

>>>

the 2nd was the following weekend {yep. back to back bachelorettes… not a lot of recovery time in between, but i somehow mananged ;)}. we did a wine tasting tour out in woodinville – about 20 minutes outside of seattle. i had such a lovely time with my girls…and true to form, things got a little fuzzy by the 4th winery ;) oh! we also stopped by a vodka distillery where there distill a vodka made purely by Washington apples…hands down the most interesting & delicious vodka I have tasted. It had a hint of caramel!
good times, ladies...good times :)

all in all, let me just say…i seriously have the best friends a girl could ask for!!! they threw me the most amazing parties... & for that - and them, of course! - i am so, so grateful :)

have a lovely day!

{WED}nesday : a handful of pearls

hello, loves!!!
well, it looks like wedding wednesdays will continue around here...
for a couple reasons*:
#1 - i have SO much to share about my own wedding & overall experience
#2 - i loved the experience so much {even the madness of it all} i am ready to plan another one!!! {don't worry, not my own...ha!...i am planning for my brother in law's & his fiancée!
so i need to keep on the up & up!}

*as if i really need a reason to talk weddings ;)

{instagram shot by my friend mina: cheering all the way down the recessional!}

i'll be sharing what few photos i currently have along the way...
the professional photos won't be available for another few weeks
& i swear that everyone else is holding photos hostage and are only leaking a few at a time!
{grrr...don't worry, i'll do whatever it takes to get ahold of them!}

okay...so now that i am all the wiser...being post-bridal & all ;)
i thought that i would share a few pearls {while it's all still fresh in my mind}
for future brides out there...

pearl no.1
you probably won't be able to help but stress over all of the details before the wedding... it's true
{especially if you are anything like me: very into the details!}
***BUT, you have to know #1 when to ask for help & #2 when to let go***
#1 was something i learned a little late in the game, but it ended up saving me a lot of extra stress
#2 came easier than i thought...there were a few major things that went wrong prior to the wedding...
one example: long story short, i had been collecting vintage milk glass for table decor for well over a year - maybe even close to 2 - well, being that our wedding was a destination event, i had to ship all of the glass to my florist...less than half of it survived the journey. {side tip - NEVER ship your fragile valuables via the USPS} i was lucky to have the best florist ever! she snapped photos of the condition of the boxes upon arrival {which i had written 'FRAGILE' on every side of every box w/ a red sharpie} to her po box & she did a count of how many broken pieces there were so that we had all the details to make a case with the post office...let's just say that it looked like these boxes had been maliciously thrown across the room - some of them had glass spilling out the sides. when my florist informed me of this, my heart sunk to my stomach...i won't lie - there were tears of anger & frustration...BUT i had to realize that at that moment, it was what it was and there was really nothing i could do about it...these were vintage pieces took a lot of time to collect & could not be replaced overnight... again, i was the luckiest girl to have the best florist...she just so happened to have milk glass  pieces available - normally for rent, but she was kind enough to just lend them to us for the wedding. AMAZING!
{you see, everything always has a way of sorting itself out :)}
{p.s. if you are looking for an amazing florist in the central california coast area,
April of April Flowers is your girl!}

this leads me to...

pearl no.2
do your homework - choose the right vendors
read their reviews, ask your venue or coordinator what kind of a reputation
they {florist, caterer, etc.} have...has the venue/coordinator worked with them before?
i can't stress enough how important this is!!!
you are relying on these people to help make your day perfect... you need people who are on your side & understand your needs & your vision for the day {side tip - communication is KEY - the more you communicate with your vendors, the better they understand your needs & vision}
we truly worked with the crème de la crème of vendors...every single one was absolutely amazing... this helped in setting me at ease {making pearl no.1 even more possible}...these are also the people that are taking care of any of the little mishaps that might will pop up the day of...& if you have chosen wisely, you won't know a thing about those mishaps the day of. quick example - another glass situation ;) - i had also collected vintage champagne glasses in pink, yellow & green...well, apparently a box was knocked over the day of the wedding & a handful of glasses broke...my INCREDIBLE on-site coordinator sent someone to an antique store in town and found replacements - not exact of course, but went so perfectly with the assortment i had collected! all the while, i had NO IDEA of any of it until the next day when my coordinator was explaining why i would see some unfamiliar glasses in my collection...i have to say, it was so much fun when i was unwrapping them all at home to find some new gems in my vintage glassware assortment :)

pearl no.3
this one probably should be no.1, but this list is really in no order of importance...
as they are all important!
ready for this??...when it all comes down to it, the day is really about
YOU & YOUR FIANCÉ
yep, it's that simple & that true...
all of the other stuff is great & important to create the ambiance and whatnot,
but don't let it consume you so much that you forget what this day is truly for :)

pearl no.4
take it all in...& remember NOW
i have the greatest uncle in the world :)
he pulled each of us {my husband & me} aside, separately, a couple of times during the reception...
he would remind us to take in the moment...
he would say...'look at your mom laughing over there...your friends dancing over there...feel the breeze,  smell the air, listen to the music'... this was one of the most incredible experiences & truly made so much of it all the more memorable...
my husband has the greatest aunt in the world :)
she texted us the day before the wedding with the same advice...
reminding us to remember NOW...
i can't emphasize enough how much this little awareness will enhance your whole experience :)
{side tip - this includes eating!!! your dinner & your cake/dessert!!!
i enjoyed it all! & even had seconds ;)}

i can definitely think of a few more pearls, but i will leave you all with these for today
& save the others for later :)

i hope that some of these may help you future brides out there...
for those of you who have been a bride, can you relate to any of the above?
or do you have any tips to add?
 i would love to hear your experiences :)

have a lovely day!

bonjour, lovers! {la vie en rose}

{Mr. & Mrs. Renné...a lovely sunset shot captured by our friend, Sara}

hello, hello!!!!!
oh my loves, how i have missed you all!

you may have noticed that i have been missing off of the face of the blogging planet for sometime now...without any fair warning...
for this, i apologize!

you see...
i was one of those crazy brides.
no, no...not the bridezilla type...
nope, not me!
i was one of those crazy diy brides...
yup, doing it all myself...
napkins, table runners, tables...yes! i just said tables!
well, that is actually a lie...
i had a lot of help from amazing friends & family members...
& one awesome fiancé {now husband}!
but you get the picture, i am sure ;)
anyhow, my life truly spiraled out of control in the last couple months before the wedding...
i took on entirely too much for my own good...
balancing wedding planning with a full time {more than full time most of the time} job, a fiancé,
plus this little blog of mine...oh! and life, in general ;)
in the end, i had no other choice but to prioritize... and, sadly...
it was the blog i had to cut...and life, in general...
i feel like i missed out on a huge chunk of life, especially in the month leading up the the big day.

well, my friends...
i am happy to report that it was ALL worth it!
i must say that our wedding day was absolutely, fabulously PERFECT!!!
actually... better than perfect :)
truly...i could not have asked for anything more!
{& i am just dying to share it all with you!!!}
and let me just quickly say...
married life is pretty darn awesome!!!
i have definitely been seeing life through rose colored glasses ever since...

and now...as i begin to ease myself back into the real world
{as i have been in 3 weeks vacation, post wedding, lala land bliss}
i could not be more ecstatic to feel that i have regained control of my life :)

i have missed you all tremendously...
and my poor, neglected blog...
but i am happy {EXTREMELY HAPPY}
to announce that i am {for really reals} back!!!!!
as i am easing back into it all, i may not post everyday...
but i'll get there soon :)
i am looking so forward to sharing all of the goodness that i have been up to!
pre-wedding, wedding & post wedding...
give me a little bit of time & i will get you all caught up ;)

although...
i am most excited to stop by & see what is happening in all of your worlds!!!

okay, enough chit-chattiness for now...
i will see you all soon!!!!!

have a fabulous day!
