how is your week so far?

truly, i can't believe how fast mine is flying right by!

it's a sign of being busy, busy, busy...i guess :)

my mom & i are on the hunt for her perfect dress for my big day!

my mom is totally gorgeous {mom, enter modest commentary here}...

she is one fit, stylish mom and is very deserving of something fabulous!

she is definitely a neutrals person...and i happen to think that a 

mother of the bride all dressed in neutral {with a little shine, of course!}

is tres, tres chic & ultra classy!

hello lovelies :)

it's tuesday...so you know what that means!

it's color link up day!!!

you may notice the new title for this series & a slightly new layout on my end...

no worries, though! it is the same game...just a new name!

i am just always changin' it up and making little adjustments

around this little blog of mine, until i get it to the happiest place possible!

well, today's post is pretty darn happy, if i do say so myself...

i mean seriously! how can you not smile at oodles of yellow goodness??!!

yellow most definitely reminds me most of summer...

the warm sun on my skin, long bike rides, picnics in the park

it makes me feel incredibly happy & wonderfully nostalgic at times

happy monday :)

how are you? did you enjoy your weekend?

was it just me, or did it fly by way too fast?!

my weekend was mostly low-key...

though i did manage to shake my booty on saturday night!

it was 90s night at one of my favorite spots...

can i just say AWESOME!!! seriously.

as i was shakin' it up, one of my best friends delivered baby #2 :)

so, i officially met baby landon on sunday!

other than that, the rest of the weekend was pretty uneventful,

but still pretty fantastic!

i have been trying to land on a monday post concept for some time now,

and i think i finally have!

i tend to do a lot of my "pinning" over the weekend, which helps me

to both clear my mind and fill it with lots of new stuff

to be inspired by as well as aspire towards some new ideas...

so, this is how i will start sharing these

Q&A: me, me, me!!!

hello, friends!

well, as promised...i have a little Q&A that i have put together...

and today, it's all about me :)
{next week, i start a full series all about some of my favorite bloggers}

i have seen so many new faces pop up around here,

{which makes me just completely giddy!} 

so i thought it would be fun to give you some little tid-bits about me!
{don't be scared...i know it looks like a lot of writing,
but i hope i have made it light & fun for you :)}

i just want to get a little mushy for a moment...

i know we all hear this a lot in the blogging community,

but i believe it can't be said enough...

this is an incredibly inspiring and powerful community that never

ceases to blow me away.

i had no idea that this awesome little (big) world existed 

before i decided to take the plunge.

originally, i just needed a creative outlet where the ideas and creations

could come from my own passions (not dictated by a job)...

this little project of my has not only fulfilled me in that way,

but also in getting to know myself and my true passions better,

becoming incredibly inspired by watching my favorite bloggers take it to the next level 

and set out on their entrepreneurial journey, meeting new bloggers that inspire me in new ways,

& making AMAZING friends (and support system) along the way!!!

i have poured my heart & soul into this little project 

and the rewards have come back triple-fold!

i truly am incredibly thankful for each and every one of you :)

one more note: while, i have my own clever ways...i was finding that my interview questions to myself were not so clever, so i turned to some interviews out of my magazines for inspiration...which is where many of the questions were born from...so i must give credit to an interview i read in my winter edition of anthology :)

i have been sharing so much about my wedding with you all lately...

which has been so much fun!

i am loving to see all of the bits & pieces start to take true life form!

however, i have decided that i am in need of a little break from my own wedding...

it's a nice breath of fresh air to think about an entirely different event for a moment

{even if make believe}

planning has been a bit of a roller coaster...

completely fantastic, don't get me wrong...

but there are those times where i have climbed to the highest point, 

only to look down into the inevitable drop of feeling completely overwhelmed.

i always get back on a steady track...after reminding myself to breath,

and to take things one step at a time.

{i promised myself & others that i would NOT, under any circumstance,

turn into a bridezilla...so far, so good!}

being a do-it-myself bride has been an interesting journey so far!

i am relishing in every moment possible :)

i just watched a fantastic film called 'summer in genoa'

{eh hem...calling all colin firth fans!}

i personally really enjoyed the film... it is a heartwrenching story of 

a father and his two daughters are learning to cope with the sudden death of their wife/mother.

it is definitely on the slower side and an indie film, so it may not suit all,

but in my opinion i thought it was good.

after watching it, i couldn't help but wanderlust for genoa...

also known as 'genoa, the proud' or la superba {'the superb one'}

{pronounced genova in italian}

the city itself has gorgeous architecture and impressive landmarks,

but being on the italian riviera also means beaches!

and all i seem to want right now is a sunny, warm, sandy beach to lounge at...

it sure would beat 45 degree gray, rainy gloom!

WEDnesday : dancing queen

hello, loves!

happy WEDnesday :)

this is one of my favorite days of the week...

not only are we half way through!

but i get to talk weddings...

and i loooooooooooooooooooooove weddings!!!

i am currently in search of the perfect dress!

party dress, that is!

{i have had THE dress for a long time now}

as much as i LOVE my gown,

{all caps can't even truly express my true love for it}

when i hit that dance floor, i need something short, frilly & fun

because i fully intend on movin' & shakin' all night long!!!

we landed our dream dj {music is a HUGE deal to us}

so i know the music is going to be rockin'!!!

and i think that any of these lovely numbers

would be fine contenders for the dance floor!

and i love the idea of that!

happy valentine's day to you all!

i will admit...i am not much of a valentine's girl

and dan and i don't usually do anything special for the holiday...

i am pretty sure that we will be enjoying the usual tonight: dinner & a film at home :)
{can't go wrong!} 

however, i do have to say that all of you have been inspiring me more & more

with your pretty valentine's posts, diy v-day cards, gift lists...

so, i thought what the heck?! why not participate in all of the fun?!

WEDnesday : how a bride {like me} stays oraganized & inspired

hello loves!!!

how are you on this fine WEDnesday?!

i thought i would share how i am {trying}

to stay organized & inspired to get pieces of our wedding planning accomplished.

let me just say it...i am a procrastinator

{a terrible curse! though i know i have it in me to break this spell...

well, you know, i procrastinate to do so...i am working on it, though!!!}

but i do believe this is partially because i truly have faith that all will work out as it should...

but, in wedding planning there is definitely a fine balance of that belief proving true

and making sure to keep to certain deadlines in booking important vendors.

so far, the balance seems right and all has been working out beautifully for us :)

here is a small glance at my current 'inspiration station' 

and a list {lists are key!!!} of the top 5 most important pieces we decided on for our event...

if you have been reading for a while, you have seen a lot of these pieces...this is me just throwing it all together to get a fresh daily perspective...i am very visual & touchy, feely - i have to keep materials, books, etc. available at my fingertips! {the layout & pieces change regularly} 

1/ cake plates... still in search of a few more vintage cake plates since we are having several single tiered cakes  

2/ texture, color, pattern - key elements throughout the overall aesthetic  

3/ save the date! this is the first time i have exposed these beauties designed {as in hand painted & screen-printed} by one of my most awesomely talented friends, tarah! i couldn't be happier with the final results...and can't wait to work on invitations with her! {p.s. see the white card w/ the ribbons attached...that is an official sneak peak at the beginning thoughts of the invites!}  

4/ that little chartreuse russell + hazel binder is what keep me organized in the prettiest way possible!  

5/ handmade weddings - key element to putting together your very own handmade wedding... thank you, tarah, for allowing me to borrow for soooooooo long!  

i truly feel like the luckiest bride...all of my visions are coming to life!!! 

it is incredibly exciting {to me, at least!} to see how the inspirations for an event unfold...

it becomes more & more real every day...

which makes me more & more excited!!!

i am so excited that it is tuesday...

i was ecstatic to see a few {or more} of you link up last week...

and pretend like it is summer :)

my southern california friends & family laugh at me 

when i get excited about a 57 degree day in february...

but truly it is like paradise for us up here in the pacific northwest :)
