let's just say this...
in life, when you find yourself
up to your ankles in mud,
you really have 2 choices:
1. you can laugh about it
2. you can get really irritated about it & let it ruin your day
i am so happy to be a #1 kind of girl :)
{at least most of the time! and definitely this time!}
i wanted to give you a shorter version of the story, but couldn't do it...
i think the whole story paints a much better picture of the scenario ;)
it's a good one...
i think it will give you a good
end of the week laugh!
i commute to work via the bus...it takes two buses to get me from work to home...
as i was waiting for my second bus, i learned that all buses were on a major delay
due to a giant traffic jam through the core of the city...
apparently, a big rig totally flipped on its side across the southbound I-5
{the only freeway through downtown}, completely blocking all lanes which shut down the entire southbound freeway... resulting in everyone taking an alternative route,
therefore clogging up all core & side streets in the greater part of seattle.
so, i decided that there was no way i was going to wait endless hours for a bus to come by,
so i chose to walk home along the bike trail...
the weather was nice enough & it would only take me about an hour...& hey! it's exercise :)
along my way, i decided to stop through my neighborhood park & snap some shots
{i've been wanting to give you all a photo tour of my hood!
was to happen today, but is now on pause due to unforeseen events!}
well, i did snap some shots & the scenery was so lovely...
i was having one of those serene moments in life just enjoying my surroundings and feeling so thankful for my life & everyone & everything in it :)
one of my last shots was the first photo of my little striped flats in the little field flowers
{some of you may have caught this on on instagram}
...these little flowers make me feel so nostalgic...
as a little girl, i would make flower crowns, necklaces & bracelets with these flowers
{did any of you do the same?!}
so, i snapped the shot & started to head out from the park...
as i am walking on the grass, i start to notice that it is a little on the wet side...
and then before i knew it i was
trenching through marshes
& up to my ankles in mud!!!
it was one of those slow-motion moments in life where i kept asking myself:
"is this really happening right now?!?!"
yes, this really just happened!
so, what did i do?
i laughed :) & snapped a photo to capture it all!
and then i rinsed off my feet with the little bit of water in my water bottle,
picked up my shoes and walked barefoot all the way to the restroom
{on the opposite end of the park}, rinsed off my shoes and walked the rest of the way home in sopping wet shoes...well, at least they weren't muddy anymore!
the silver lining? my shoes were $18 at forever21 & they are fabric and washable...
now, if they were my brand new madewell leather flats... my story might be a smidge different ;)
okay, loves! that's it...hope i made you laugh! {at least a little}
i wish you all an amazing weekend!!!
XO

p.s. it was a full moon last night...coincidence with the events mentioned? hmmm...
