a scenic tour & a tumble down memory lane

bonjour!

happy friday :)
so, you might recall this infamous moment of mine here
well, these classic shots were taken at a beloved little park of mine...
gasworks park
i would have to say that this is by far my favorite park in seattle.
it is not the most beautiful park,
considering the giant non-functioning gas plant that sits in the middle of it...
{you see, once the gas plant shut down, seattlites petitioned to not have it torn down because of all of the waste it would create, so they put a fence around it and here is stays to this very day...
we are a very green city, what can i say?!}
but, here is why i love it:
1. the water...the park sits on lake union
2. the view...the city sits perfectly across from the park
3. this is where all of the summer picnics happen {a sunday ritual with our friends!}
4. conveniently located in my neighborhood... an easy breezy walk or bike ride away!
5. ahh...the memories that have been created here :)

{i rather love the way these photos turned out with my america hipstapak from hipstamatic...
i may just have to frame this series of shots!}

i have some pretty great stories about gasworks with the mud incident being the latest,
but i thought i would share the short{er} version of my favorite story...

our friends had eloped & had a brunch with a small group of friends to celebrate...
we all headed over to gasworks to continue celebrating.
it was a gorgeous day...we brought the champagne
& real glasses {key words there!} & celebrated the afternoon away :)

well, my bestie & i tend to get ourselves in {BIG} trouble
when we've been sipping the bubbles...
so, we found ourselves having a little water fight {very mature, i know!}
& the next the we knew was that we took a tumble down the {very steep} hill
...well, we happened to roll over a champagne glass or two...
without getting too graphic, let's just say this...
i got a chard of glass in my thigh, she took one in the foot.

off to the emergency room we went!
once they realized we were friends, they put us in the same room...
those nurses & doctors loved us!
2 cute girls, obviously a little extra happy :)
laughing & having a good ol' time...
all the while being stitched back together.
the end.

on that note, cheers! to a fabulous weekend!!!
 i hope you are up to something good :)

XO
