okay, so i admit it...
i really, really, reallywanted to do a post
on something in regards to spring fashion...
on something in regards to spring fashion...
but, after remembering my words of yesterday...
about relishing in the beauty of now
{even though it means cold, gray winter &
all i want to think about is colors of tangerine & yellow}
i thought i better stick to them...
i thought i better stick to them...
& luckily in that moment, i got side-tracked!
i came across derek lam's pre-fall 2012 collection
and i thought...well, perhaps talking fall is a bit premature,
at least some of the fashions could translate better to right now...
so there you have it...this is how my designer crush developed...
and, perhaps a new love for menswear-inspired womenswear.
and, perhaps a new love for menswear-inspired womenswear.
i love the menswear take on his designs.
i think that we have been seeing inklings of menswear trends
over some time now,
but he has raised the bar...
elevating it to a very sophisticated & polished sartorial level.
isn't just the best being a girl??!!
we get to wear menswear & dresses
& look fabulous in both!!!

i must admit that the menswear look would not be a typical look for me...
but fashion is too fantastic to say "never"!
i do like the idea of the super classic look, but
i do like the idea of the super classic look, but
i am feeling especially drawn to the last look...
it's a little bit cheeky, isn't it?!
how do you feel about menswear with a feminine twist?
would you wear the look?

Thanks for showing us the line! I struggle with menswear, I love the look but cannot figure out the pieces that work for me! I love that camel pencil skirt!
Love the look of a structured tailored jacket. I'm still on the hunt for a perfect men's style tux jacket, let me know if you find one!

love it...it can be as feminine as anything else!
I am blown away Brynn. That older gentleman in that first photo with his coat is simply amazing. I hope my husband dresses like that when he gets older. So sophisticated!
Yes, please! SO fabulous. THat skirt in the 4th picture on the top is fabulous. Love your picks.
I love it! And so agree with you on the last look.
Love it! I have so many thrifted men's sweaters. They're my favorite!
First of all, that green suit is fantastic! And then the blue blazer at the bottom with the fur collar - dying! But I love the way you'd wear it most of all - can I have that Chloe bag too???
Love me some femme'd up menswear. So sexy. Love your "how you would wear it"- perfect!
