i hope you all are having a fantastic week!

this week is flying by and i couldn't be happier :) :) :)

i am on whistler countdown {2 days to go!}

so, i really love doing wedding posts because i get to dream and imagine

about things that i may not ever actually incorporate into my day,

but that i still appreciate and love the idea of...

such as feathers...i love the idea of using them in weddings

feathers create this whimsical, soft touch...a perfect feminine detail

of course, we all remember carrie bradshaw's blue bird headpiece :)

it made quite the statement,

as i think many feathered appearances in weddings do...

from a unique boutonierre to fluttery dress details to feathered flowers

...these details are a little more on the unexpected side

and i fancy that!

birthdays are a very special thing...

and you all helped me to feel extra special on mine!

please excuse my mia-ness yesterday...

i mean, i was kind of here, but kind of not...

you see, it was one of those "life happens, sometimes" kind of days

and sometimes that means that you have to push one thing aside 

to make room for another.

no worries, though, friends :) all is well now...

my fiance was just having an incredibly rough day and needed my support and love.

so, this also {somewhat} explains my short & sweet color crushing post today :)

happy monday!!!

and happy return from a nice long holiday weekend!

oh, it is soooooo hard to get back into the groove after these long weekends ;)

i hope you all had an amazing thanksgiving day & weekend!

i most definitely did...

lots of time with the fiance's family...

LOTS of tasty food,

a good amount of shopping,

snuggle time, friend time, holiday movies...

and a great birthday sunday.

i kept my {actual} birthday very low key 

since the major festivities {enter whistler, bc} will take place this coming weekend!

i rang in my lucky number 30 with my love and 2 of our very best friends...

a simple sunday of movies - like crazy {in the theater} & the holiday {at home} -

ice cream {to be specific - a salted caramel & earl grey split scoop topped with hot fudge, whipped cream & sprinkles - yes, you heard me right! sprinkles!!!},

handcrafted cocktails at one of my favorite spots,

and some amazing pizza :)

it was truly a perfect day!

color crushing : whistler white + gold

hello loves :)

i am majorly crushing on this color combo right now...

& i can't help but think how lovely this palette would be for a  my birthday soiree!!!

this pretty palette was inspired by...

the village of whistler, which glistens and sparkles a snowy white & gold that is just so magical

this is where i will be {lucky enough} to getaway to for my upcoming birthday!!!

my fiance has been up to planning the perfect 30th birthday for me!

how are you on this fine monday?

did you enjoy your weekend?

i most definitely did and am now looking forward to a nice, short week!

my weekend was all about relaxing, starting to put together a wedding website

and girl time... saturday was girls night out with sushi & dancing!!!

so, here's the deal...as you probably know by now,

my birthday is coming up very soon {sunday, november 27}

and, obviously i am not very shy about it ;)

i can't help it...i love birthdays sooooo much and especially my own!

so, therefore i shout it from the rooftop!!!

so i feel like i can't be entirely selfish ;)

i have a ton to be thankful for, and i don't want that to fall to the wayside.

so, this week is going to be all about

finding the balance between celebrating my birthday & giving my many thanks :)

to kick that off, i am starting the week off by giving back!

and, let me tell you...

i am going a bit over the top on some of my wishes...

but, hey! a girl only turns 30 once, right??!!

10 > toffee crunch cupcakes with caramel frosting {umm...yes, please!!! sign me right up for a dozen +}

9 > a beautiful bouquet of flowers from my love {he is planning a fabulous getaway party for me...so no "real" gifts needed}

8 > a pretty bar cart for me to play with :) {i'll take "the double", please!}

7 > super hot birthday shoes!!! {and, lady, are these christian louboutin heels hhhhhhhooooooootttttt!!!!!}

6 > lots of pretty champagne cocktails {this one should be pretty easy ;)}

5 > more cozy, oversized sweaters {'cause i just can't get enough!}

4 > a trip to paris in the winter {okay, see...told you i went a little overboard! a girl can dream...}

3 > this stella mccartney clutch!!! {makes my heart sing with so much joy!!!}

and...the number 1 thing that i wish for on this 30th birthday of mine, is simply to spend it with the people i love...just having good old fashioned silly times {as we always do!} even if i got nothing from 2-10, i would be completely satisfied with just having #1 :)

moth and crow

a new luxury accessory brand created by dawn smithson.

right here in seattle, she handcrafts these supple, delicious handbags.

every bag is unique {read: one of a kind} because each is made from different materials. 

she uses leathers and sample hides from fine italian tanneries that would otherwise go to waste.

all fabrics, linings and hardware are either upcycled or eco-friendly.

you can even request custom colors, leather finishes, etc!

she will also soon have the beautiful hand-crocheted/sewn/braided knit scarves & hats 

available that you see in the photos! {most yarns are either undyed or dyed naturally}

it looks like smaller leather goods {wallets & such} will also be available in the future!

i truly just can not get enough of these gorgeous handbags & knits!!!

count them in as added to my birthday & christmas lists!

i will gladly take possession of that fur braided scarab bag & that polished black otolemur bag :)

fall in seattle...lately

hello!

how are you? how was your weekend?

posting a little late today...i've been sleeping off a stomach bug all day :(

feeling a bit better now though...

anyhow, just wanted to share some of my recent fall adventures...via the ol' hipstamatic...

this past weekend, dan & i took a stroll through the lovely University of Washington campus...

neither of us had ever been on the campus before...it was just lovely! 

a couple of weekends ago, my family {mom, auntie & grandma} were in town...

how are you today?
surviving the week, i hope :)

i have been working 5am shifts all week long

so i am feeling a bit exhausted and very ready for the weekend!!!

so, as some of you know...

thursdays have typically been a day for thrifting/vintage posts for the ol' blog...

but since the weather became a bit on the chillier side, 

i am just not out there hunting the markets quite as frequently.

so, i will still share my finds with you...but just a little less often than usual...

it will have to be as i find them :)

to fill the gaps, i thought i would throw in a fun new post!

i love finding new websites, artists, designers, etc. when peeking around the web...

thank goodness for pinterest, right??!!

i love to {hopefully} be able to follow the link back to the original source of an image i love...

i either find myself exploring a brand new {to me} blog or finding a new favorite etsy shop :)

yesterday, i included this adorable little illustration in my dreamy parisian wedding post

after exploring further, i found the artist's website, blog & shop!

i just adore her illustrations...

they are at once whimsical and so lovely.

i especially love the use of watercolor...

i just can't even begin to tell you how very, very much i love watercolor!!!

there are definitely a number of prints that i would love to hang on my walls...

i can't really say which of the above is my favorite...

but i do especially adore the little australian birdies with bow-ties! so cute!

WEDnesday : a paris wedding collection

hello loves!!!

how are you?

sorry to go a-wall for a couple of days...

i had my mom, auntie & grandma in town for a few days :) 

it was so nice to spend some time with 3 of my all-time favorite ladies!

we just hung out, walked about the city {enjoying perfectly sunny & chilly seattle fall days},

did a little shopping, a lot of eating, tons of talking {hello, 4 ladies = a whole lotta talking!!!}

had midnight dance parties in my living room :) :) :) {i LOVE my family!}...

you know, all the fun bonding things you do with the people you love :)

i am a little  lot on the late side today, 

but still wanted to share my latest color crush with you all :)

navy + black

i just love this combo...

and whoever said that you can't "do" these colors together

was wrong, wrong, wrong.

i love the dark, mysterious vibe as is...

but i also love to freshen it up a bit...

when you throw in a little cream, a sprinkle of gold or just a pinch of blush pink, 

the palette automatically feels lighter and feminine...
but still so dramatic & elegant...

such a perfect combo for winter!

{known as engagement rings}

now, don't you all go worrying now...

i LOVE my ring and would never, never,

but, again, i just can't help it!

there are so many sparkly, pretty rings staring in my general direction...

so, i will just admire from afar...

and then look down to see what is closest to my heart...

hello, loves!!!

how are you today?

thank you so much for your patience with me...

sometimes you just need to take a little bloggy break to be with the one you love :)

how was everyone's halloween?!

our's was mellow yellow...

we went for a nice evening walk and enjoyed the beautiful fall weather...

the leaves are quickly departing the trees, 

but we were still able to capture some of their colorful beauty...

while it is still here. 

we even caught the sunset over the lake :)

fall is truly my favorite season

{what can i say? i am a fall baby!}

the trees are absolutely one of my favorite parts of fall...

and while i love all of the different colors that there are,

i must say that the fiery red ones are some of the most captivating...

the colors are just absolutely incredible!

so, it got me thinking about how much i am loving red lately...

especially by means of fashion & lips

{& i have always been a bit envious of those with lovely red locks!}

so, today's color crush is not a combination,

but simply just a single note

{that comes in so many lovely shades!}
