i typically go every sunday, but with it being the fiance's birthday

how are you on this fine WEDnesday?

WOW! can you believe we are halfway through already??!!

where did the week go...and even more so, where did september go???!!!

so, on the note of weddings...

i have save the dates on the brain...gotta get those babies done & out!

my dear, super talented friend will be designing our save the dates & invitations...

{with handcrafted type & all!!!}

i can't wait to see what she comes up with!!!!

in the meantime, i have been researching verbiage options for the save the dates

what i wish...

hello, everyone!!!

how are you on this monday?

it's a little rainy & gray here today...

but i am kind of enjoying it :) 

we had a full weekend of beautiful fall sunshine, 

so i definitely can't complain!

how was your weekend?

what did you do?

we had a fantastic birthday weekend for my love...

filled with crepes, karaoke, champagne
&
pistachio cake w/ honey buttercream frosting
{yes, i made it from scratch!}
BUT...alas, as i always knew...
i am NOT a baker...
no, no, no...definitely not!
i LOVE to cook, but have never had the precision or the patience for baking...
so, my frosting turned out to be more like icing
and by the time the cake was "done" it looked more like an order of
extra large biscuits and gravy than a beautiful cake...
BUT! it still tasted delicious!!! heavenly, in fact :)
{proof that presentation is NOT everything!}
anyhow, dan still loved it and that is all that really mattered!

so, i don't know about all of you...
but i always find mondays to be a little difficult to settle back into
after a lovely weekend...
and i often find myself daydreaming
{usually about the things i pinned or saw online over the weekend}
well, i thought that i would start sharing my monday wish/love lists with you :)

grab-bag fridays : the whiskey bar

hello, hello!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!

{and happy autumnal equinox!}

oh, what a week, what a week!

how are you today?

i am feeling a bit more rested :)

so...as promised, i am featuring {what would have been yesterday's} thrift post...

i received on of the coolest thrifted goods on my doorstep on wednesday...

my very own vintage mini whiskey bar! 

{and...it is even chartreuse!!!}

{my mom...she is just one of the coolest people i know!}

so, of course, i wanted to put it to use right away!

i consulted my trusty little cocktail book {went straight for the whiskey section}

and found a recipe called British Raj...

it sounded like the perfect summer to fall transitional cocktail

{1- single malt scotch, 2- pear, 3- lime juice & 4- star anise simple syrup...}

so i decided to try it out...

i slightly altered the recipe to serve the drink 'up' rather than on the rocks...

let me tell you...that was one tasty beverage!

{and so pretty, too!} 

i just love my new {old} little whiskey bar! 

it makes me want to have a mad men party!!!

it is my love's birthday on sunday...

so we have a french {think crepes} dinner & 

japanese-style karaoke filled saturday night planned :)

color crushing : charcoal + gold

how are you today?

can you believe that the {true} ending of summer is nearly here...

and that fall is upon us...creeping right around the corner?

it definitely has me obsessing over the fashions and the colors of the season!

this week's color crush is inspired by stephanie @ big mario life.
{if you don't know stephanie, you should meet her!
she is an extremely talented photographer & always makes me laugh :)}

on last week's color crushing post, stephanie shouted out that she was

crushing on charcoal gray with gold accents...

by coincidence i was wearing a charcoal gray top 

with a gold necklace and a gold & camel watch that day...

no joke! i love this color combo!

this just makes me want to go out and get more charcoal & gold!!!

1. i am most definitely a "fashionably late" kind of girl

2. i am a spice fiend...curry, cumin, cinnamon...you name it, i LOVE it!!!

3. i am allergic to cherries {yes, that is the sad, sad truth}

4. my cat, mazzy, spoons with me...no joke! 

she is such a snuggler...she's my baby, what can i say?! 

{eleven now, rescued her when she was just an itty bitty kitten}

5. maybe this is too personal, but i am about being real...

i have crooked teeth, i have a booty, i have a small chest...

at one time all of these things really bothered me...

but now i could care less...

{well, maybe one thing still kind of bothers me...i am only human}

but, the beautiful thing is that i am ME and i am happy with me :) 

{maybe that's just part of growing up!}

6. i am obsessed with coconut bliss ice cream...have you had it? 

it is frozen coconut milk {completely non-dairy} heaven! 

vanilla island has quickly become my new favorite flavor...
and i am not usually a vanilla kind of girl :)

7. my friend and i won the school talent show competition in sixth grade...

we did a routine to bell biv devoe's 'poison' that involved
double cartwheels & double backflips...oh those were the days!

how was your weekend?

i had a very nice & mellow weekend...

i got together with my future mother, aunt & cousin in-laws

and did some fun wedding stuff!

i took them to see my dress...which, i must tell you...

i haven't seen it in a year and i was STILL jumping for joy!!!

i LOVE my dress :) 

i can't wait to {one day} show it to you all!

other than that, we just had friends over for dinner.

i don't know about all of you, 

but this week has just flown on by for me!

yippee for the weekend ahead!!!

i just want to thank all of you who left really lovely comments on my post yesterday...

it always makes me a little nervous to post something that is a personal creation,
so i really appreciate all of the love :)

so, let's get down to some thursday thrifting!

i am here today to share my latest & greatest treasures with you...

1> vintage vera scarf >>> $5

i am so in love with the pattern and colors that it became the inspiration for redecorating my bedroom! 

i hung it on the wall for now and am thinking of framing it :)

2> diamond pattern beaded coin purse >>> $7

adorable and in stellar condition! {not a single bead is missing!}

3> yalos casa murano opalescent glass tumblers {set of 4} >>> $16

quite possibly the deal of the year for me!
...let me explain...

i picked up this set of glasses at value village
{which is on par with a goodwill or salvation army} for $4/glass...
they are super heavy tumblers in a thick opalescent glass which is more 

opaque in some areas and more translucent in others {hard to tell in this pic!}...

obviously handcrafted as each glass slightly varies from another in shape...

i could tell that they were something special,so i looked on the bottom of the glasses
...where i found the words 'yalos casa murano'...so, i researched this once i got home
and found the exact set of glasseson ebay...for $180!
apparently yalos murano is a very popular italian glass maker...who knew?!

has anyone picked up on the fact that i have a bit of an obsession with vintage scarves??!!

it's kind of become a signature thing for me :)

WEDnesday : setting the table

hello, loves!

i tell you...

wedding fever is starting to reach high tide!

i can't help but think about wedding planning

ALL . THE . TIME

these days!!!

so, i went to town last sunday and started to concept 

some table ideas :)

i wanted to get a head start because this coming weekend 

i will be at it again with dan's mom and aunt!

here is what i toyed around with on sunday...

i picked up a gorgeous bouquet of gorgeous coral & white dahlias 

and pretty white snapdragons from the farmer's market...

i love the way they looked with all of the goods i have started collecting :)

i originally was going to do a color scheme of shades of green & coral,

but thanks to pretty inspirations like these...

i had a change of heart...

my heart goes pitter-patter over these watercolor citrus hues!

they just feel too perfect for what i want for my wedding :)

i also love how fresh the colors look with all of the milk glass i recently inherited!

well, hello monday

hello :)

how was your weekend?

i would typically recap my weekend for you...

but it was incredibly low key {read: loads of pinterest!}...

being sick most of last week,

it was doctor's orders that i stay in and rest up

{and take my antibiotics}

i can't say that i am 100% clear of strep throat, 

but i feel a million times better!

i am glad to be rid of that nasty monster,

but a little sad to part with my diet of soup & frozen yogurt...

i had major cabin fever,

{& maybe a slight overdose of i dream of jeannie & bewitched on hulu!}

so i was happy to feel well enough on sunday 

to step outside & mosey about the flea market a bit :)

{i got some lovely vintage pieces that i will share with you on thursday!} 

so, since i do not have photos from my weekend...
