won't you come shopping with me?

happy friday, all! no foodieness today, but i do have a fun shopping adventure to share with you...i just spent a lovely day with my mom shopping in the Cedros Design District in Solana Beach, CA. this area is so fabulous!!! everything from old to new, retro to industrial...it has become a staple destination each time i visit my mom :) come along and see what i saw...

first we had lunch with my auntie at this little cafe where the little birdies were so friendly that they let you feed them from your hand...a very snow white moment, indeed :)

and then we went into my most favorite shop that is filled with some of the most fabulous pieces...if i had a million dollars i would take it all home with me! here's what i saw...

walking to the next shop...bamboo :)

this little shop was so girly & vintage & fabulous...they had everything from mini cakes, to scary doll heads, to the coolest doll house ever, to vintage americana bicycles, etc...come take a look...

and here are a couple pretty things that popped up along the way...

beautiful butterflies

and very, very pretty succulents...love!

let's get organized

hi, hi, hi! happy tuesday, all :)
i must say...vacation does a brynn very good! it could also be this amazing ocean air, but having this time off is most definitely helping to clear my head! i am visiting my mom in san diego and the weather could not be more perfect!!! i think that i have eliminated some of my vitamin d deficiency {so common in sunless seattle} and maybe, just maybe have even gotten a little color!
anyways... onto the topic of today's posting : organization
isn't it just so much easier to function and feel inspired when all things are in their place {if they have a designated place} and you are feeling well organized? i think so. somewhere in the last couple of years of living in my place, my closet has shrunk! well, okay, perhaps i {my shopping habits} have something to do with this...but regardless, it is time to get organized! here are some very organized spaces that i find to be both refreshing & inspiring...

little treasures

hello all & hello monday!
i am a huge fan of flea markets, antique malls, thrift and vintage shops & consignment alike and i get a great thrill out of finding fantastic little treasures :) today, i am sharing some of my most favorite,  most fabulous finds...and can i also mention?...all major steals!
cropped flannel shirt jac: $25
definitely vintage, found at a great thrift store called radd summer in portland, or, across from my favorite $3 movie theater that serves pizza & beer {can you imagine a better sunday afternoon?!}...it seems to be a men's flannel shirt jac converted into a cropped women's shirt jac...so cute!
loeffler randall peep toe beauties: $89
you can't beat a beautiful pair of loeffler randall wooden platform peeptoes for $89...considering that they at one time probably cost $500...found at my favorite little consignment spot, show pony in seattle, wa {conveniently located within walking distance of my home}
vintage books: $1 - $5
found at the fremont sunday market in seattle ,wa {my local flea market}. why pay for overpriced faux vintage books at places like anthropologie, when you can get the real deal from the flea market for pennies?...okay, dollars...and if you are lucky, you may even find a handwritten note inside the cover :) {p.s. i love anthro as much as the next, but come on...you have to agree here}
hello, shine! truly vintage sequin shell: $18
found at the fremont antique mall in seattle, wa {another favorite within walking distance}. how could i say no to this? the sequins are most definitely hand-sewn, it is in perfect condition & it is under $20...how can this be?! it had my name ALL over it!
retro specs: $10
super hot red roundies found at a basement thrift store in paris
hot black heels: $28
my latest find, found once again at show pony {in the consignment shop}...they fit like a glove and i called them mine!

happy treasure findings to all!

 on a more serious note,
let us please not forget this incredible man...
Martin Luther King, Jr. is an INSPIRATION
...in loving memory...
