sparkle, sparkle...color POP!

hello lovelies!!!
how are you today?
did you enjoy your weekend?!
i had a fantastic weekend!!!
i had a long to-do list...
i didn't accomplish it all...
but i did get my tree & garland & what not :)
so, i spent much of my weekend listening to holiday tunes,
sipping hot cocoa, watching holiday films,
enjoying a little {adult} eggnog & decorating away!
let me tell you...that decorating took it right on out of me!
i'm exhausted & i am still not even done!
i'll be obsessing over details all week long,
so i can't show you final photos yet...
but here are some "work in progress" shots of our tree :)

{ images, clockwise from top left: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 }

all of you creative minds out there will understand what i mean
when i say that being creative-minded
is both a blessing & a curse!
the reason it's taking me so long to decorate the tree is because
i decided i wasn't happy with the color scheme i was originally going for
{white, silver, gold...clean & sparkly}
though it's a lovely combo, i just wasn't feeling it! i wanted my tree to feel more lively!
so, what did i do? i changed color schemes just as i was nearly finished decorating the tree!
i pulled out random fabric & yarn & ribbon in bright fun colors and went to town!
the theme turned to lots of sparkle with pops of color
i restrung all of the ornaments with various bright yarn colors...
added in red & icy blue ornament pops...
then, "created" my own garland from fuchsia & orchid purple fabrics...
and wrapped chartreuse ribbon around the tree...
i can't wait to finish it and show you the final pictures!!!
{consider this a little teaser!}

if you have a christmas tree, what color scheme did you decide on?

have a lovely day!!!
{fingers crossed for a quick week...i'm loving these holiday-fest weekends!}

i love the color! i'm a traditionalist and love the good old red/white/gold combo. but i saw a purple/white tree recently and it was gorgeous!

It looks and sounds like your tree is going to be awesome! I've never wrapped a tree with ribbon before, but I think it would be a great way to incorporate a color theme. Next year, for sure. This year I went with metallics and white.

I love all the color! Especially the pop of pink!! I wrapped my tree with ribbon and it is a LOT harder than it looks, especially when you are dealing with a humungous tree. I can't wait to see the rest of your photos darlin! xo

Ha ha I had the same initial theme! You must check out my post today for my new inspiration. But I am so loving the bright pops of fuchsia and turquoise too (my minimalist husband would not go for it). Your tree sounds amazing with all of its shiny new color! xoxo
