tuesday huesday : hues of a hipsta {matic}

hello all & a very happy tuesday to you all! i hope you all had a fabulous weekend :) i definitely did! i was away at the coast for my friend, jessica's baby non-shower...yep, that's right... jessica, being a non-traditional girl, decided against a traditional baby shower. so, instead, we had a lovely girls' weekend away at a gorgeous rental house on the washington coast! which means that instead of playing tacky diaper/candy bar sniffing games, we relaxed in front of the fire and in the hot tub, bonding with friends old & new, had dinners & movies...all while looking directly out to the beach...i highly recommend this style of baby shower...it was perfect!
anyhow, enough of my rambling...the suject of this posting is color, of course! so, i wanted to share with all of you iPhoners out there a super cool app that i just learned about from one of the girls last weekend. i am probably so behind and possibly the last person to know about this app...but in case some of you are a little behind in the techie department, too... here you go... are you familiar with hipstamatic? if not, i suggest you take a liitle look :) basically, you are able to choose from a variety of photo filters that change the hue of the image...it's that vintage appeal that always draws me in! the app is only .99 and then you can purchase add-ons as you go. here are some examples...enjoy!

hi, all :) welcome to the half-way through the week point! today, i dedicate WEDnesday to the bride...the nontraditional bride, that is...the bride who is not afraid to break a few "rules" in order to be a lot more fashion-forward...i commend this bride for her confidence, her carefree attitude...and above all...her style...this one's for you, lovely lady!

a very crafty monday : details, details, details... garland, garland, garland

hello long lost friends!!! i am so sorry to have left you for so long...i must tell you that it is no easy feat having a full-time job (that happens to be crazy right now!), a full-time life AND a blogging side-project! i must tell you all that i am very good at being absolutely crazy and taking on way more than i should...and it doesn't help that i feel most creative in the middle of the night! i just needed a little r & r...but here I am now :) i missed you all so much!
so, let's just get right to it...
lately i am all about garland! it is just an adorable little touch that can be so easy to make!

here is a little garland i made for my birthday soiree last weekend...(i made the dessert letters, too...freehand!) i have been collecting all kinds of paper for many, many years...including tissue paper, so i had a ton of colors & patterns to work with! i cut the tissue papers into thin strips in various lenghts. then, i (very carefully) tied the tissue paper strips onto cotton twine in an organized, random pattern :)
and...ta da! insta-diy super cute garland :)

and here is some more garland that i fancy (that other people made)...
